Beach Baby

We are finishing  a baby's  nursery inspired by beach cabanas! Oh Summer is leaving us!

The room is very light and airy. We chose  window treatments that were very similar to these.

We used this  fresh  Newport Cottages crib. The fabric panels on either side of the crib can be covered in any fabric of our choice and are completely removable for reupholstery.

We chose this striped fabric for the panels in the crib.

We chose this bookshelf from Newport. It was painted white on the outside. The inside back wall was painted aqua.

A nice accessory for the bookshelf would be this cute frame from Cici Crib .

For the bedding we did a cute crib skirt, fitted sheet and toddler blanket. The skirt is a seersucker orange with a fine wale cordoroy border. The fitted sheet is an aqua dot. Instead of a bumper we accessorized with a toddler blanket has the same outer fabric as the skirt,  but lined with super soft minky.  All custom made by Bebe Chic.

This area rug would look nice.

I would love  to finish off the nursery with this piece of art. Framed in weathered driftwood, it is just perfect.

Happy Summer!

Oh just a note that Wee Westchester did  a great little post about us on their very cool blog. Thanks Wee Westchester!

Visit to Bebe Chic

I got a chance to visit one of my vendors that make so much of our beautiful custom  children's bedding at Cici Crib. Located directly across the Hudson River from Manhattan, Bebe Chic is just one of my favorites. Each piece is made locally and with such care and quality. I am always excited to open up the box to see how our vision was translated. Our current look is made by Bebe Chic..

Can't wait to see how it turns out.

A Ray of Sunshine

When I was a little girl, my favorite color was yellow.  Bright, sunshine yellow. A customer wanted to put a little zing in her daughter's bedding to fit her personality. She wanted it to be simple with a splash. We chose  Serena and Lily's  classic bedding in berry with yellow marni euro shams and a great bolster made by Bebe Chic.

A touch of yellow is just so lovely. Love these rooms...

Girl and Boy Bedding

Custom kids bedding is awaiting pick up this week at Cici Crib. These pieces are good examples of putting  together  bedding that suits the customer's desires.  I feel design is sometimes about solving a puzzle. It is sometimes about figuring out a path to get to the right outcome. The customer used very traditional fabric for her daughter's window treatments. I believe it may be an old Ralph Lauren fabric.

The mom wants to update the room, but keep the window treatments.  She wants to make the room a little more hip.  We chose a headboard like the one below. The body fabric was almond basket weave from Serena and Lily. We covered the buttons in raspberry fabric.

The bed skirt was done in the same fabric.

The bedding was punchier, but still happy to be with the window treatments.

I wish I had a pic of the completed bed. Oh well...  I think this little dresser would also look great in the room..

Another mom was shopping for her son. He wants an orange room. She painted the room a taupe. She didn't want it to be too orange, but enough that it would make her son happy. We came up with this  custom bedding from Bebe Chic and mixed it with a dog pillow from Serena and Lily. It just looks great.

Now on to her next son. He wants a purple room. Another puzzle to figure out.

See you..
